Recently, I wrote a post on the immensely successful collaboration between The Fitchburg Art Museum and Fitchburg State University, and I’m elated to share that I’m not the only one who has taken notice of this beneficial rapport. Since my post, Fitchburg State University and the Fitchburg Art Museum have officially become partners! The joyous event was commemorated with this selfie pictured below!
From left Anna Clementi, an FSU and Fitchburg Art Museum trustee, museum Director Nick Capasso, FSU President Robert V. Antonnucci, FSU professor and museum trustee Peter Laytin, and Chris Hendry, FSU's vice president for Institutional Advancement.
Along with this selfie came an article published in the Sentinel and Enterprise written by Michael Hartwell. The article elaborates on the three year relationship that has existed between the museum and university. Hartwell also drew attention to the fact that the current President of FSU, President Robert V. Antonnucci, who is soon to be retired, finds the relationship between the univeristy and museum to be vital. President Antonnucci stated
"We can't survive without the museum, and the museum can't survive without us."
Antonnucci also emphasized the importance of new President of Fitchburg State, Richard S. Lapidus, to understand the importance of the tremendously beneficial partnership. Additionally, the museum’s director, Nick Capasso is quoted as saying,
“If the art museum had to go out and hire people to perform all the work on catalogue design, logos, branding, blogs and website development that FSU students have performed, it would have cost the museum about $30,000.” He also added that the quality of the work has been superb.
