FAM in Bloom
A few weeks ago FAM hosted "Art in Bloom" at the Museum. During this yearly event, artists from The Laurelwood Garden Club choose different paintings and sculptures in FAM and create these beautiful bouquets. They fill the museum with flowers for only one weekend. Not only did they spice up the naturetech exhibit with their floral interpretations, but also, the entire museum was decked out with these floral arrangements.
My favorite part about "Art in Bloom" was how the aromas of these floral sculptures filled the entire museum with lavish scents. As you walked from room to room, you were greeted by a different fragrance.
These gorgeous bouquets filled the museum with a whole new aura. You could see and feel the art in the entire museum in a totally new and immersive way. Not only were you experiencing the art work visually, but also through smell as you got a 3D representation of each of the works throughout the exhibit.
I was also really pleased to see drawings, paintings, and other 2D representations of flowers that were featured in the museum through "Art in Bloom." There was no better way to experience the transition to spring then this event at our very own FAM.
It was such an interesting experience to see the art in such an innovative and immersive way. I hope you enjoy the photos of some of my favorite bouquets and drawings as much as I enjoyed getting to see them in person!
