A couple of teammates, classmates, and fellow bloggers have been flying under the radar here at Fitchburg State! Angela Renzi and Sarah Morin were cast members of our University’s most recent play: The Crucible. Angela and Sarah are some of our top bloggers and main editors here for the naturetech blog, but have been doing so much more on top of their high caliber work here!
With rehearsals starting on February 14th (yes Valentines Day), an all student, 21 person cast got to work. Spanning from April 8th to April 18th, 2015, the cast put on 9 separate shows on both weekdays and weekends. With run times averaging 2 hours and 14 minutes, all members of the cast had to dig deep to balance a great performance on top of their schoolwork. For Angela she has continued great blog posts for this blog as she has battled through all these performances after suffering a knee injury about half way through their total amount of performances. Whether it was coming to class on crutches or still meeting up with fellow bloggers for meetings, she has worked very hard to continue her great work ethic. Sarah’s work ethic was nothing to overlook either! On top of numerous leadership roles in other classes and a potent leadership role here on the blog, Sarah continued to write, post, and edit blogs while not missing a single rehearsal or show!
The Crucible was viewed by big names at Fitchburg State University such as President Robert Antonucci and even the new incoming President for 2016, Richard S. Lapidus. With a constantly packed auditorium at McKay (Fitchburg State University), the entire set was set up/broken down between shows in 1 hour and 30 minutes. All the costumes used in the play were 100% accurate to the time period as well. These costumes worn by our own Angela Renzi and Sarah Morin were borrowed from Civil War reenactors and Tufts College as well. All of Angela and Sarah’s perseverance and drive have been greatly appreciated by the blog team and all classmates here in Fitchburg! Awesome job Angela and Sarah!
